Book on change makers launched

MUSCAT : A book introducing notable Indians who have excelled in various fields in Oman was launched at the Sharjah International Book Festival on Tuesday.


The book, titled 'Changemakers,' introduces 20 people who have excelled in their homeland through different initiatives that support local and international humanitarian efforts, art and literature.


Published by Onlooker Publications, the book features people who came abroad as expatriates and made a difference to the society back home as well as at the country of choice.


It also elucidates people with grit and determination who have shown excellence in the fields of art, literature, cinema, education, health and technology.


Adil Thomas Alexander, a native of Pathanamthitta, who was honoured by the Oman government with citizenship, Rahim Pattarkadavan, the first Malayali youth to receive Saudi Premium Residence, Nadisha, a young scientist from Chavakkad, Harris Master, who was awarded by the President of India, UA Nazir, a prominent American Malayali, Dr Adul Rasheed, Dr Nigel Kuriakose, Rajan V Kokuri, social worker and well known writer, Sarathi Soma Rajan, Kollam Gandhi Bhavan which is Asia's largest joint family, CM Najeeb who excelled in maritime sector, Dr Rajashree Narayankutty, international breast cancer awareness activist, Maadin Qulant Director, Sainuddin Nizami Kundamangalam, African businessman Nadeem from Punnayur, KC Abraham, owner of Sky Line International, Shahul Hamid, manager, Happy Line, a transport service provider in Gulf, Suresh Unni, a top Malayali investor from Sohar, Manoj Kumar from Kozhikode, an ex-serviceman and volunteer, Luqman Azhari, Holy Quran researcher, and other luminaries who are featured in the book besides sharing the stories of Shahnaz Ashraf and others.


The coffee table sized book contains messages from Kerala Governor Arif Muhammad Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.


The book was prepared by a committee with Abdul Ahad as legal advisor, and Fahad Saliman, Happiness Mentor and Author, Managing Editor, Pradeep Chandran, M Sajitha, N M Suhail and Dr Mohan Poulani as co-editors.


Under the Onlooker publication launched by Padmasree M A Yusufali in 2011. More than a dozen books have already been published, including directories of top talent among Saudi Malayalis, 30 selected company CEOs in Oman, trendsetters and 50 industry luminaries based in the UAE earlier.
