MUSCAT: In a thrilling match within the Oman Basketball League for the 2023-2024 season, Seeb delivered an impressive performance, securing a convincing 109-53 win against Dhofar at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Basher on Sunday.


Throughout the four quarters, Al Seeb displayed exceptional teamwork and determination, putting pressure on Dhofar players and seizing control of the game. Key players like Prince Johnson, Mazen al Hadidi, Ahmed al Maamari, Ayman al Muharami, Al Waqas al Hinai and Ahmed al Sinani played crucial roles in scoring points and ultimately achieving a resounding victory.


The game kicked off with Mazen al Hadidi managing to score a three-pointer that motivated Seeb to press and confine Dhofar on their court. Johnson succeeded in scoring six points after three lay-ups. Dhofar responded by scoring two points through Mohamed al Muharami. Both teams continued their efforts, with each team adding a number of points, ending the first quarter with Seeb leading Dhofar 25-10.


In the second quarter, Seeb maintained their offensive advantage, adding 33 points, while Dhofar added 12 points. The first half ended with Seeb leading Dhofar 58-22.


The third quarter saw no change in the gameplay from the first half, as players added 25 points for Seeb, while Dhofar could only score 13 points. The third quarter ended with Seeb leading Dhofar 83-35.


In the fourth and final quarter, Seeb added two more points to their total, while Dhofar fought back with a total of 18 points. The match ultimately concluded with a decisive victory for Seeb, securing a final score of 109-53.

In the second match, Ahli Sidab managed to win against the Oman club by a four-point difference, with the match ending with a score of 68-64.


The game was characterised by fluctuations in performance, with both teams taking turns dominating the four quarters and sharing the results, with a relative advantage in some periods for Ahli Sidab, thanks to the standout performances of Hamiar al Hasani, who scored 29 points, Will Jalilati (14 points) and Walid al Hattali, who scored seven points. On the other hand, Fahad al Ajmi scored 11 points and Haitham Bani Orabah scored eight points for Oman Club.
