Muscat: The Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate organized an awareness event on the harmful effects of tobacco.
The campaign, 'Your Health in Quitting Tobacco' was held at Al Sahwa Gardens in Seeb in partnership with the World Health Organization office in the Sultanate of Oman. Bloomberg International supports programs to combat non-communicable diseases within the Partnership for Healthy Cities initiative.
The occasion was attended by Sheikh Al-Mu'tasem bin Abdullah al Siyabi, Deputy Wali of Seeb, and Dr. Thumra Bint Saeed Al-Ghafriya, Director General of Health Services for Muscat Governorate.
The event highlighted the most important health services provided to the community in this field, in addition to highlighting the pivotal roles played by other competent bodies in the issue of tobacco control and its uses, represented by the Muscat Municipality and the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA).
