IMF mission’s visit to Oman begins on Wednesday

MUSCAT: The visit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV consultation is set to take place on November 1-15, 2023, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman through the Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance.


These meetings are a continuation of the IMF team’s preparatory visit that was held on June 6-14, 2023.


This visit aims to discuss the latest macroeconomic developments and prospects, in addition to a number of topics related to fiscal and monetary policies, and government measures taken to mitigate the economic and financial repercussions at the regional and global levels. Furthermore, the visit focuses on monitoring potential risks that could threaten financial stability.


During this visit, the Fund’s experts will hold meetings with a number of officials from the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, and several public authorities and other government entities, in addition to some civil society institutions, and private sector.


During these meetings, the IMF will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the economic and financial situation in the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
