The Oman team, coached by national head coach Anwar al Habsi, played its inaugural international fixture since July when they had short domestic camps. The preparatory encounters against Kuwait in two games will assist the coaching staff to play both matches with different starting line-up list in order to see the performance of all the squad members. It is expected that coach Anwar will open the opportunity for new faces in Friday's warm-up game and apply some new techniques and tactics that shape the players readiness ahead of the forthcoming official events and assignments.

It is expected that also Kuwait matches will be followed by other friendly games ahead of the team’s attendance in the Arab assignment. On the other hand, Khasab city is gearing up to welcome all the West Asian teams to take part in the 10th edition of the Under-15 West Asian Football Championship during December 1 to 10. The championship will be organised under the umbrella of West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) and hosted by the Sultanate of Oman represented by Oman Football Association (OFA).
