Duqm - The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) has said that more than 30 usufruct contracts have been signed for large tourism projects RO526,286 500 in the Duqm Economic Zone.

Engineer Abdullah bin Salem al Hakamani, Director of the Technical Affairs Department in the Special Economic Zone in Duqm, said that a large number of projects have been implemented until this year, including resorts, hotels, and hotel apartments.

He said that the Duqm Special Economic Zone offers around 2,500 hotel rooms, which include luxury apartments and multi-purpose rooms.

There has been an increase in the number of tourists in the last nine months of this year and some of the new projects include the development of the waterfront spread of 19 kilometers, which currently has seven tourism projects.

Work is underway on the 14-kilometer-long coastal road, followed by several public facilities with more than RO20 million this year.
