Public Prosecution secures ISO certifications

Muscat: The Public Prosecution has secured (ISO 9001) for quality management and (ISO 37001) for anti-bribery management system in record time of one month.


Under the auspices of His Excellency Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Public Prosecution obtained today, October 10th, 2023 two ISO certificates, (ISO 9001) for quality management system and (ISO 37001) for anti-bribery management system from accredited auditor at an event held at W Hotel.

The officials said the Public Prosecution’s efforts to obtain the two ISO certifications stemmed from the belief of its role to promote the rule of law, represent the society in public action with integrity and transparency, and facilitate quality-level services based on international standards that focus on the principles of ethics, honesty and impartiality, in line with Oman Vision 2040 to establish a functioning and specialized judicial system and have an effective and transparent control, in order to achieve a fair and effective justice.


Public Prosecution adopted on August 8th, 2023 the implementation of the quality management system and the anti-bribery management as per the requirements of (ISO9001) and (ISO 37001) with scheduled timelines for the two systems. The timelines included forming organizational structures, organizing workshops for internal auditors, meeting the requirements for the two systems, and creating a continuous awareness program through an effective communication plan for holding workshops for the Public Prosecution’s staff. The approved timelines marked the effective way for implementing the two systems, followed by an internal audit review of the processes and procedures, the feedback from the management on the internal audit review, and the external audit review, which an accredited certification office carried out.
