Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, met here on Thursday, with Alexander Schallenberg, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Austria, on the sidelines of the opening of the 27th session of the Joint Ministerial Council between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union, taking place here in Muscat.
During the meeting, the two sides mooted opportunities for trade, cultural and investment cooperation between the two friendly countries, and a number of regional and international issues.
The Austrian counterpart appreciated the role played by the Sultanate of Oman in releasing two of his country’s citizens.
Sayyid Badr also met with with Jan Lipavský, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Czech Republic, during which they valued relations between the two, and explored ways to enhance them in various fields to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries.
The two sides also exchanged opinions and viewpoints on a number of current regional and international issues of common interest.
The two meetings were attended by senior officials from both sides at each meeting.
