OFSEC showcases cutting-edge solutions for fire, safety and security

The 7th Oman Fire, Safety, and Security Summit and Expo (OFSEC) officially opened on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), bringing together industry leaders, professionals, and innovators from around the world.


Recognised as Oman’s premier event in the field, the summit provided a platform to showcase the latest advancements in fire, safety, and security technologies, fostering knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.


The two-day event, inaugurated by Major General Abdullah bin Ali bin Hamad al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police & Customs for Operations, Royal Oman Police, featured a comprehensive range of products and services, including fire prevention and suppression systems, emergency response equipment, surveillance solutions, cybersecurity, and risk management technologies.


With over 90 exhibitors from around the globe, the summit highlighted the importance of robust safety measures in both the public and private sectors.


One of the key highlights of the event was the series of insightful panel discussions and presentations by industry experts.


Keynote speaker Aldulrahman al Yahyaei, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Energy Association (OPAL) said, “The theme of this year’s summit is building a safer tomorrow through collaboration, innovation and preparedness. This is a timely and important theme as Oman continues to develop and grow. With this development comes new challenges such as the growing population and increasing risks of natural disasters.


The Oman Fire, Safety and Security Expo is a unique opportunity for industry professionals to come together and share their knowledge and expertise and also a chance for businesses to learn about the latest products and services available and to make connection with potential businesses.”


“This expo has attracted a record number of exhibitors from all over the world with 90 exhibitors from 19 countries. This demonstrates the strong interest in the Omani market and the confidence of industry leaders have in Oman’s future,” Al Yahyaei added.


Speakers addressed the pressing challenges and emerging trends in fire safety and security, emphasising the need for proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of individuals and assets. Topics such as smart cities, artificial intelligence in security systems, and the role of technology in disaster management garnered significant attention.


The summit also served as a platform for international companies to introduce their latest innovations to the Middle East market.


Exhibitors showcased cutting-edge technologies, including advanced fire detection systems, state-of-the-art surveillance cameras with facial recognition capabilities, and integrated emergency response solutions.


These innovations aim to revolutionise the way fire, safety, and security are managed, offering enhanced protection and efficient response mechanisms.


Moreover, the summit facilitated valuable networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with industry peers, government officials, and potential business partners.


The event attracted a diverse range of professionals, including fire safety officers, security consultants, risk managers, government representatives, and technology providers.
