Oman 3 to 5-star hotels revenues exceed RO 138 million

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman’s 3 to 5-star hotels revenues reached RO 138.38 million at the end of August 2023, compared to RO 109.535 million during the same period last year or an increase of 26.3 per cent


As per the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the increase in revenues was commensurate with the growth in the total number of hotel guests, which showed an increase of 26.7 per cent, as well as the occupancy rate, which registered a growth of 10.4 per cent.


These hotels recorded about 1,284,640 guests by the end of August 2023, compared to 1,013,876 guests in the same period in 2022. The number of Omani guests reached 499,840 guests, showing an increase of 5.3 per cent, while the number of Gulf guests increased by 25.1 per cent, recording 137,367 guests.


Among guests from other nationalities, the total number of European guests increased by 44.1 per cent, reaching 275,672; number of American guests reached 36,970, recording an increase of 2.8 per cent; number of guests from the African continent reached 7,336, with a growth rate of 39.5 per cent; number of Asian guests also increased by 44.2 per cent, reaching 187,486; and guests from Oceania numbered 27,110, an increase of 228.7 per cent.
