Gulf Tourism Strategy initiatives include unified tourist visa: MHT

Muscat: The Gulf Tourism Strategy (2023-2030) was approved by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to promote the regional tourism sector by Increasing the number of local, regional, and international visitors, and increasing the sector’s contribution to GDP, apart creating job opportunities for local communities.


The strategy also aims to improve the competitiveness of GCC tourist destinations through innovative experiments in all segments of the industry with the development of quality standards.


The Gulf Tourism Strategy initiatives included the unified tourist visa among the GCC countries, joint promotional programs and marketing campaigns, and the exchange of tourism statistics and data.


Based on the views of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in the tourism sector were identified, including the risks, as it is important to preserve antiquities and heritage, promote it, and work to increase the attractiveness of the tourism system to international investors


The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will host on Wednesday and Thursday the seventh meeting of the ministers and Undersecretaries responsible for


Tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries at the Oman Across Ages Museum in Manah.


This meeting comes within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman’s presidency of the current session of the GCC and as part of the efforts to enhance integration among member states in the tourism sector.


The meeting will discuss the joint implementation of the Gulf Tourism Strategy's proposed initiatives in the first phase, which will help promote the GCC as a


single and diverse tourist destination.
