753,952 voters registered for Majlis Ash'shura elections

As many as 753,952 voters will elect their candidates for the tenth term of Majlis Ash'shura on October 29, according to the Ministry of Interior.


There are 362,924 women voters for this term's election. The number of new registered voters who will cast votes for the first time has reached 139,963.


With 153,809 total registered voters, Al Batinah North Governorate has a maximum number of voters among the governorates. Al Batinah North Governorate also has the largest number of 28,843 newly registered voters.


The number of new women voters rose to 76,059, while those in the 21-30 age group constitute the highest at 71,901.


The Ministry of the Interior announced the statistics pertaining to the upcoming elections as part of the law governing the election procedures through the "Intekhab" application and the elections website (elections. om).


Grievance Redressal: The Ministry of Interior explained that any aggrieved party may file a grievance against the names included in the preliminary lists of voters with a request through the election website within five days from the date of announcement of the lists, indicating the reasons for the objection, accompanied by supporting documents.


EXECUTIVE REGULATIONS


Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of the Interior, issued a decision ratifying the executive regulations for the law on electing members of the Majlis Ash'shura.


The regulations stated that the main election committee comprises a maximum number of 12 members in coordination with the relevant authorities. The complaints committee should comprise five members, and the voting committee six members, nominated by the chairman of the main election committee in coordination with the relevant authorities according to the requirements of the electoral process.


Subcommittees The executive regulations included the formation of subcommittees, which include the Voting Committee, which is made up of no more than 150 members; the Technical Audit Committee, which is made up of no more than 11 members; and the Sorting Committee, which is made up of no more than 11 members.
