Muscat: As part of the road maintenance work in Muscat Governorate and in coordination with the Traffic Department, Muscat Municipality has closed Al Jabal Street (Mountain Road) towards Bausher from Al Amerat.
To be closed for four months, one lane will be opened during the morning peak hours, between 5 and 9.30 am.
With the closure of Mountain Road, motorists reported a surge in traffic on the Wadi Adei-Amerat road, especially during morning office hours on Sunday.
Authorities have urged road users to take the extra commuting time into account to avoid untoward incidents.
For the purpose of maintaining the necessary protections on the road, the municipality urged everyone to take caution follow the traffic instructions shown on the website, and use the alternative road (Wadi Adi Road) to avoid traffic congestion.
