SALALAH
The 1st Gulf Industrial Exhibition opened in Salalah on Wednesday under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar. It is organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Taking part are a total of 29 factories from GCC states operating in the sectors of renewable energy, manufacturing industries (recycling), pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industry, as well as manufacturing metal products, and companies working in the field of innovation.
During the exhibition, 12 inventors from the GCC countries will be honoured for their innovations, which include the following: a technology to treat oil-contaminated soil, photocatalytic solar panels, a reservoir water cooling device, a smart fumigator, a project to convert the trailer link system from an axial hook system to a sphere and smart wheelchair.
This is in addition to shocasing the invention of producing potable water suitable for the use of organisms and plants from a non-potable water source, a device to correct the position of the jaws and modify apnoea disorders, a solar panel cleaning system, in addition to the invention of a drug mixture used for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes.
The exhibition will run for three days and is open to the public. It showcases the latest innovations and technologies from the region's industrial sector, and it provides a platform for businesses to connect and collaborate.
The exhibition is also a testament to the GCC countries' commitment to economic diversification and their efforts to develop a knowledge-based economy.
