Hisham to present Olympic Movement course in Doha

Oman’s certified lecturer from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in sports management, Hisham bin Salim al Adwani, will present a vital programme on the Olympic Movement principles in the Sports field (Management 1) course in Qatar. The training course is organised by Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) in its headquarters in Doha city and will begin from Sunday and will run for one week.


The course will target employees from Qatar Olympic Committee and employees from the sports committees and associations from Qatar and other countries as well. The course is designed as the first stage in determining the participants on establishment of sports administration in terms of getting to know the international sports institutions and their operational aspect. Moreover, the participants will learn the structure and extension of the international sports bodies at the continental and national levels. The course will highlight sports science as well as Olympic values, principles and the full history of the Olympic movement.


Commenting on the course details and its main contents, Hisham al Adawni, an international certified trainer, affirmed that the course will feature several outcomes that will add to the participants after completing the programme. “The course will contribute to provide all the participants with the desired technical skills on how to plan and manage in attending any regional and international Olympic Games event.


Also, the course participants will get to know the proper strategies in management during the mega sports gatherings as well as how to employ sports sciences to serve the athlete and sports. The content of the course also provides the student with an enlarged picture of global sports and knowledge of its position and role in the sports system,” he concluded.


Hisham recently presented the advanced Sport Management course at Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) headquarters in Muscat. He is the current Vice-chairman of Oman Schools Sports Association (OSSA) and one of the leading sports administrator certified trainer in Oman with the IOC accreditation.
