Beneficiaries voice high satisfaction with Dhofar municipal services

SALALAH: A comprehensive survey was conducted from July 15 to August 15 to assess the satisfaction levels of beneficiaries of municipal services in the Governorate of Dhofar. The survey aimed to gauge the opinions of residents regarding various aspects of public facilities and services, including market facilities, road and rainwater drainage quality, mobile phone-based services, tourism-related services, and decorative and afforestation efforts undertaken by Dhofar Municipality.


The survey revealed that 50 per cent of beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the quality of public facilities and services available in the local markets. This finding sheds light on the areas that might need improvement to enhance the overall experience for residents utilising these essential amenities.


In terms of road and rainwater drainage quality, the survey indicated that 60 per cent of beneficiaries reported a positive satisfaction rate. While this percentage signifies a majority of content individuals, there remains room for enhancing road infrastructure and drainage systems to meet the expectations of a more significant portion of the population.


The convenience of accessing municipal services via mobile phones garnered a higher level of satisfaction, with 76 per cent of respondents expressing contentment. This percentage underscores the growing trend towards digitalisation and highlights the successful integration of technology into public service delivery, although continuous efforts are necessary to address the needs of the remaining 24 per cent who might have encountered challenges.


Beneficiaries were notably content with the public services provided by the municipality during tourist events and at various sites. The survey revealed an 80% satisfaction rate, showcasing the positive impact of the municipality's efforts to enhance the tourist experience and promote the region's attractions.


The survey's most significant satisfaction rate was observed in response to the decoration and afforestation works carried out by the municipality. An impressive 88 per cent of beneficiaries expressed contentment with these efforts, suggesting that such projects not only contribute to aesthetic improvements but also resonate positively with the local population.


The survey also highlighted varying levels of satisfaction across different service categories. While certain aspects like decorative and greening works received high praise, there remain opportunities for the municipality to further elevate the quality of market facilities and road infrastructure.


Additionally, the widespread satisfaction with mobile phone-based services underscores the importance of continued technological integration to streamline public service accessibility and convenience for all residents. This survey serves as a valuable tool for the Municipality of Dhofar to target areas of improvement and build upon existing successes to create an even more satisfying and efficient experience for its beneficiaries.
