MUSCAT: The Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, represented by the Human Sciences Curricula Department, is implementing the training programme for the third and fourth grade curricula from the English language series 'Team Together Oman'. The programme continues for five days and targets English language trainers.
The programme aims to introduce participants to the third and fourth grade curricula of the international series, the most important contents of the two curricula and their features.
It also aims to provide participants with the necessary skills to teach the two curricula to the target group of first-year teachers in training programmes in the various educational governorates.
Dr Moza bint Hamdan al Muqbali, an English language trainer in North Al Batinah Governorate, spoke about her participation in the programme. “Our benefit from the programme lies mostly in forming a deep understanding of the principles on which the new curriculum is based, and the mechanisms of its application with young learners. On the other hand, the programme relied in its implementation on a group of large number of training activities,” she said.
Omar bin Amer al Diffai, assistant trainer at the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate Educational Training Centre, said: “The English language series programme for the third and fourth grades comes as a continuation of the programme that began last year. It provides an overview of the new curriculum and the strategies it contains to enhance the learning process for students and facilitate the delivery of content and language. Our role in the next stage is to train teachers and provide the necessary support to help them perform their role to the fullest.”
