SALALAH: A two-day regional forum on culture and green heritage will open on Monday (today) under the auspices of the Eng Ibrahim bin Said al Kharousi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage.
The forum, titled ‘Culture and Green Heritage: Paving the Path to Sustainability’, is organised by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science in Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah.
The forum brings together distinguished experts and specialists in cultural and natural heritage preservation from Oman, the Gulf region, and around the world. Notable organisations such as the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO), the UNESCO Regional Office for the Arab States of the Gulf and Yemen in Doha, and the Arab Regional Center for World Heritage in the Kingdom of Bahrain are also participating.
The central goal of the forum is to highlight the potential of artificial intelligence applications in advancing cultural and green heritage practices.
Innovative solutions that support the transition of green heritage to environmental sustainability will be showcased.
The forum will also emphasise exemplary practices in culture and green heritage, underscoring their role in contributing to a sustainable economy.
