

MUSCAT: The Oman national bodybuilding and physique team showcased their prowess at the recently concluded West Asia Bodybuilding and Physique Championship held in the capital city of Manama, Bahrain. From August 16 to 19, the team displayed exceptional dedication and skill, securing a remarkable total of 19 medals in various categories.
Among the standout achievements, Abdulmajid al Raisi stood out by securing the gold medal in the Junior Physique category, showcasing not only his talent but also the future potential of the team.
Another significant victory came from Imran al Dhafari, who clinched the prestigious gold medal in the Muscle Physique category for athletes measuring above 179 cm.
In the Physique category for individuals measuring above 170 cm, Ghanem al Maamari earned the gold medal, further showing the diversity of the team's talents. Nasr al Wahibi's commendable performance secured him the silver medal in the same category.
The achievements continued with Omar al Masoudi, who seized the gold medal in the Physique category for those above 173 cm. The silver medals were not far behind, with Abdulmajid al Hadrami and Malik al Kasbi both attaining recognition for their impressive performances in the Physique category for athletes above 173 cm and 176 cm respectively.
The 179 cm height category saw Mazen al Balushi claiming the bronze medal, while Aamer al Balushi took home the silver medal in the Physique category for those above 182 cm. These successes further cement the team's reputation as a force to be reckoned with in
the realm of bodybuilding and physique competitions.
Champion of Champions
A thrilling highlight of the championship was Ghanem al Maamari's becoming the Champion of Champions, accompanied by the award of a professional card.
Omar al Masoudi further solidified the Oman team's success by emerging as the second Champion of Champions. His outstanding performance secured the silver medal along with a professional card.
In addition, Nabhan al Zadjali's exceptional skills earned him the silver medal in the Classic Physique category for individuals above 173 cm, while Muhsin al Harthy's noteworthy performance secured the silver medal in the Classic Bodybuilding category for athletes above 175 cm. Samer al Balushi displayed his strength by securing the fourth position in the Classic Bodybuilding category for above 180 cm.
The Oman team's achievements extended to the weight categories as well. Sami al Gharbi claimed the gold medal in the 65 kg bodybuilding category. In the 75 kg bodybuilding category, Nabhan al Zadjali secured the bronze, while Ali al Maamari claimed the gold in the 85 kg bodybuilding category.
Additionally, Mohammed al Ajmi secured the silver medal in the 95 kg bodybuilding category. Ali al Maamari's accomplishments were further celebrated as he was crowned the Champion of Champions and received a professional card.
The team's achievements culminated with Ishaq al Farsi securing the fourth position and Khaled al Shihi claiming the sixth position in the Muscle Physique category for athletes above 179 cm.
