ISG marks India’s Independence Day

Muscat: The students of Indian School Al Ghubrah presented the celebration of India’s 77th Independence Day at the school under the auspices of Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Amit Narang on Tuesday morning.


The Indian Ambassador spoke on the journey of 77 years and the new inspiring personalities of India who play prominent role in the current world. He pointed out the distinct trait that is imprinted in the DNA of each national was inclusiveness.

The school band began with the National Anthem and after the official address by the ambassador, the band presented patriotic songs followed by a tableau by students with the theme, ‘Future Ready India’ looking at developments in technology and resources.


“India is a diverse country with many different languages, culture, traditions and religions. With all the differences we are united in our love for India. The strength of India lies in its ‘Unity in Diversity,” said Rayz Ahmed, President of ISG.


He added, “Oman has been a home for us for many years. Our children have grown up here and we love this country. The values of Oman and India are similar and the bond of friendship continues to grow stronger each year.”


Students who are members of the school’s Indian Choir performed Tribute to the Nation, followed by Indian classical dance performance on Harmony in the Universe, Sargalaya - a rhythmic melange. The program concluded the performance by the western choir with the title Aspiring for Universal Brotherhood.
