Over 44,000 persons with disabilities in Oman: NCSI

Muscat: The total number of people with disabilities in the Sultanate of Oman is 44,513, constituting 0.9% of the total population by the end of 2022, according to a report published in the Oman newspaper, the sister publication of the Observer.


According to the annual statistics for 2022 by National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total number of persons enrolled in the programs of the Vocational Assessment and Rehabilitation Center is 66, where the rehabilitation services needed by persons with disabilities are provided to make them easier to integrate into society so that they can play their role alongside the people of this country.


NCSI report said that the number of persons with disabilities increased to 44,513 in 2022, including 27,166 males from 42,613 in 2021.
