Is it true what has been said “parents are the best teachers”?! The concept of parents being the best teachers for their children is not only in educating them, but in all life-related and parenting matters. I believe this varies from one parent to another depending on their values, ethics and even educational and social background. However, many people assume that parents are still the best teachers for their offspring, no matter how good are other people around the children.

When parents are considered best teachers, they should also be good friends for their children; just to make the parent-children chemistry work effectively. You might wonder what kind of chemistry is this! It is a bonding between the parents and their children. But, parents are unconsciously utilising it or not giving it much attention in order to strengthen their sacred relation with their offspring. The chemistry is a set of emotions such as love, care, sympathy and mercy which are mutually shared between the family members in general and parents and children in particular.

In some cases, you see children a bit confused and not sure who is their best teacher in life. They are uncertain about their good friends at school or neighbourhood and their fathers and mothers who are very often busy. Sometimes, such circumstances psychologically affect the children’s personality; they tend to be shy, mystified and not confident. Therefore, parents should be as close as possible to children in order to avoid any kind of psychological heartbreaking problems or serious misunderstanding between them.

The first teachers we all have in our lives are our parents; it is an undeniable fact because parents are the children’s very first teachers since the early days of life. From the first day of birth, parents’ behaviour most of the time reflect their love and affection for their babies. By the time babies start growing up, parents teach them how to crawl, speak, walk, run and to have good manners before they reach adulthood. Later on, parents get involved in their children’s study affairs and help them in their education. It is an undeniable fact that parents are the best teachers in term of commitment and emotional support to their offspring.

Commonly, parents are the most committed teachers to their children almost in all walks of life. Some children regard their parents as their ideal role model, especially when parents show their dedication and are willing to sacrifice a part of themselves for the betterment of their children, love their children and have great patience while passing down their knowledge to them.

On the other hand, there are parents who are far away from their kids because they are more dedicated to their everyday responsibilities. Thus, they gradually lose the value and essence of their family life.

In order to be your child’s best teacher you need to win their hearts first of all and to be a good father or mother in terms of emotions, psychology and morals. You should also be your child’s friend, so that you share mutual respect, trust, understanding and stress-free relation. In a bid to strengthen the relation between you and your offspring, you eliminate all kinds of barriers and individual differences between your children.

However, never forget that each child has special skills, abilities and merits that differentiate him or her from other siblings. Parents are not only best teachers, but children look upon them as role model. In facing life obstacles like examination pressure or friendship problems, children would seek advice and mental support from parents.

Likewise, parents will provide unconditional encouragement and support in dealing with the challenges. Additionally, parents provide emotional support of all time to their children.

Never ever regret being a good father or mother and the best teacher for your offspring!
