Chocolate lovers, rejoice! The Chocolate Rathah Festival, which began here earlier this week, is a one-of-a-kind event that immerses guests into the world of delectable chocolate experiences.

The Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment has been transformed into a chocolate wonderland, with something for everyone to enjoy. There are chocolate treats and delights from all over the world, as well as chocolate-themed activities and events. Visitors can sample chocolate from local chocolatiers, learn how to make chocolate, or simply relax and enjoy the chocolate atmosphere.

The festival is open from 5 pm to 11 pm daily.

Shurouk al Balushi, one of the organisers, said the festival will promote local chocolate and coffee industries as well.

Al Balushi said that the exhibition will feature a variety of chocolate and coffee products from local and international vendors. There will also be live cooking demonstrations by three international chefs from Netflix. The chefs will be offering hour-long shows on how to make chocolate and coffee desserts.

In addition to the cooking demonstrations, there will also be a variety of workshops and events at the festival which is organised in association with Dhofar Municipality. These events will be geared towards all ages and interests, including children. There will be a special pavilion for children with models of chocolate for cartoon characters. Children will also be able to participate in workshops on how to draw and cook with chocolate.

Al Balushi said that the organisers of the exhibition are committed to supporting local businesses. They have partnered with a number of productive families to sell their products at the exhibition. Productive families are those who are involved in small businesses or home-based businesses.

Sumhera Haroon, a student from Bangladesh studying at Indian School Salalah, visited the chocolate museum during the chocolate festival. She was amazed by the intricate details of the chocolate statues, especially the seashell-themed jewellery box. She also loved the scenery in the kids’ section, including the Mickey Mouse chocolate figure and the monkey and rabbit sculptures.
