Pokri Warriors lift MOCL T16 Cup

MUSCAT: Pokri Warriors lifted the MOCL T16 Champions Cup by defeating Konkani Warriors by 4 wickets in the fifth edition of the MOCL Grand Final held at the Challengers Cricket Club ground, Al Amerat.


Winning the toss, Pokri warriors elected to field and Konkani Warriors posted a score of 141 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 16 overs. Pokri Warriors achieved the target in 14.5 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.


The second runners-up for the Muscat open cricket league was awarded to Star XI.


Iqbal from Pokri Warriors scored 59 runs in 30 balls securing the man of the match of the final.


Gururaj Rakshith from Pokri Warriors took 3 wickets and Sachin Hegde took 2 wickets respectively.


Salman Khan from Konkani Warriors scored 43 runs from 26 balls.


Shibin from Mabella XI was awarded the man of the series for his outstanding performance with the bat and the ball.


Saju Raghavan from Al Saheer became the best wicket-keeper of the tournament.


Rajesh Jaison from Rex Stars Tuskers won the honour for most five wickets (5) in the league.


Atheeb Mohammed from Lankan Lions won the best batsman award, (990 runs) maximum sixes award (116 sixes) and maximum centuries award (4 centuries) in the tournament.


Shiraff from Lankan Lions won the best bowler award with 49 wickets.


Alif Juval Khan from Shine XI won the highest single individual score (208 not out).


The tournament was conducted in the spirit of fun for all cricket lovers in Oman.


The trophies and cash award were given away by Robert, Arun, Moin, Rejeesh, Raheem and Noor from MOCL organising committee.
