Muscat: Omani Customs officials on Monday confiscated over 24,000 alcoholic beverage bottles disguised in iron and gypsum cargo truck.

"Hafeet port customs seized an attempt to smuggle more than 24,000 bottles of alcoholic beverages, which were tightly hidden in a truck carrying materials of iron and gypsum," a statement from Oman Customs said.

In another incident, the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, managed to arrest two infiltrators of Asian nationality on charges of smuggling quantities of marijuana and psychotropic substances, and legal procedures are being completed against him.
