CDAA launches awareness exhibition in Dhofar

SALALAH: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) inaugurated an awareness exhibition in Dhofar Governorate under the patronage Dr Abdullah bin Ali Al Amri, Chairman of Environment Authority (EA), running concurrently with the activities of the Dhofar Khareef.


The exhibition is part of this year's ongoing efforts to raise awareness and enhance preventive measures against risks related to CDAA work. It will be open to the public until August 10.


Held at Salalah Gardens Mall, the exhibition features several sections showcasing the diverse capabilities of the CDAA. These sections cover areas such as fire, ground rescue, water rescue, search and rescue (urban and mountainous), handling hazardous materials accidents, ambulance services, civil protection, and an awareness corner.


Visitors to the exhibition can explore and learn about the various equipment and mechanisms employed by the CDAA to respond to different types of emergencies. The displays also include demonstrations of high building landings and other rescue operations on land, water, and hazardous materials.

To promote safety education, the CDAA has set up a dedicated corner for training visitors on the proper use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and first aid procedures. Additionally, an interactive corner designed for children offers an engaging experience to learn about safety practices.


In his remarks, Dr Al Amri expressed his utmost satisfaction with the exhibition, acknowledging the CDAA's preparedness. The strategic timing of the exhibition coinciding with the activities of Dhofar Khareef further highlights its significance.


Dr Al Amri extended his heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated civil defence and ambulance personnel for their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in ensuring public safety.


The exhibition serves as a testament to the CDAA's state-of-the-art technologies and equipment, providing concrete evidence of their readiness to handle any emergency situation.


He emphasised the EA's strong commitment to collaborating closely with the CDAA, working together to safeguard the safety of all citizens and residents of Oman.
