SALALAH: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) on Thursday marked the passing out of a new batch of soldier recruits from the Firaq Forces.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Maj Gen Musallam bin Mohammed Ja’aboub, Commander of the Sultan's Special Force (SSF). It was attended by Maj Gen Matar bin Salim al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman.

At the outset of the celebration, held at the military parade grounds of the Firaq Forces, the passing out batch marched before the dais, giving the salute to the chief guest, who inspected the front row of the column.

Then, the recruits performed a military parade in normal pace, marching to the accompaniment of musical tunes by RAO band.

The chief guest handed over felicitation awards to top performers among the recruits.

The celebration also included military performances that demonstrated the lofty skills and abilities of the passing out batch. The RAO band also performed a variety of military songs and musical pieces. - ONA
