

On Thursday, the activities of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar Festival, organised by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will kick off at the main site next to Hail Yemen Park and Seih Qatanah Park.
Held from August 3 to August 19, the festival aims to attract tourists from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman. It will highlight the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar and the Sultanate of Oman as a whole, in addition to encouraging entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises to participate in the festival.
It will also promote tourism and create temporary job opportunities for job-seekers. The festival will include the Bait Al Rudaida exhibition throughout the festival period. This will be next to the Bait Al Rudaida Fort in Birkat Al Mouz.
This is the first stop for visitors to Al Jabal Al Akhdhar Festival and tourists looking for services or products. This can make the tourist experience in Al Jabal Al Akhdhar easier and smoother including car rental and maintenance services, tourist offices, travel equipment, and supplies, as well as an exhibition for families and small and medium enterprises.
In both locations, the festival will include a variety of corners, events, programmes, and family-friendly entertainment. In this area, there is a youth corner to meet their interests and orientations, and a children's corner to create fun and creative exploration.
The festival will also include a corner for Omani food, and a corner for Al Jabal Al Akhdhar farmers to display the various products of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar. During the festival, paragliding shows and theatrical performances such as Ala Addin show, the chemical science show, and other shows will be presented.
A group of races and events will also be implemented for adventure sports fans, including the Al Jabal Al Akhdhar mountain bike race. This race is organised by the Oman Cycling Federation.
This is in addition to a tourist walk and the Himam race for mountain running. Festival visitors can also learn about the history of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar by visiting the historical village of Al Soujara where there will also be accompanying events.
