SALALAH: The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, in association with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), is organizing the "Forum for the Present and Future of Scientific Research and Innovation in the GCC Countries - 2023." The event will take place on July 25-26, 2023, in Dhofar Governorate, under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Marwan bin Turki Al Said, the Governor of Dhofar.

The forum aims to foster collaboration and advancement in scientific research and innovation among the GCC member states. Distinguished experts and scholars from the region will convene to exchange knowledge, explore cutting-edge ideas, and shape the future of research and innovation.

The forum is a testament to the commitment of the GCC countries to progress and development. By working together, the GCC countries can pool their resources and expertise to create a more innovative and prosperous future for their citizens.

Prof. Dr. Rahma Al-Mahrouqiyya, gave the opening speech at the Ministry's annual conference. She stressed that scientific research is the key to producing and possessing knowledge, and that this is the role of higher education institutions and research centers.

Al-Mahrouqiyya also said that the efforts of knowledge producers must be integrated with technological efforts in order to turn the products of scientific research into a tangible reality. This could take the form of a new product, a significant improvement to an existing product, a new marketing method, or a startup. By achieving this, the business industry and the innovation system will be complete.
