SALALAH: A 4-day training workshop began in Salalah on Monday for specialists tasked with applying the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006(MLC2006).
The workshop is organised by the Ministry of Labour, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and International Labour Organization.
A number of departments concerned in Oman and some specialists from the GCC countries are taking part in the workshop, which discusses a set of topics, including the amendments adopted on 6 June 2022 at the 110th session of the International Labor Conference and the statement of the procedures in force in regulating maritime work, in addition to the role of seafarers’ employment offices in the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
