Some governorates to get sporadic rains: Met

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that there are chances of sporadic rains of varying intensity in the Sultanate, especially in South al Sharqiyah, North al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar governorates.


Torrential rains, accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected in areas around the Hajar Mountains and neighboring areas.


There is a possibility of rising dust and low horizontal visibility due to active winds in parts of the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al-Wusta, and Dhofar.


On the coasts of the Sea of Oman, the waves of the sea will have a maximum height (of 1.5 m to 2.5 m, while the sea on the coasts of the Arabian Sea it will be around 2.5 to 4.5 m.


The Sultanate of Oman will be affected by an air depression (low pressure) extending from western India in the coming days, starting today.
