MUSCAT: The highly successful second edition of the Exhibition of Higher Education Institutions, Training and Human Resources Development 2023, which commenced on Thursday, culminated on Saturday. Hosted at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, the three-day event witnessed the participation of both governmental and private institutions from within Oman and outside.
Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, graced the opening ceremony which also saw the esteemed presence of several dignitaries, parents, and ambitious male and female students.
The exhibition coincided with the long-awaited announcement of the general education diploma and its equivalent, drawing in aspiring male and female students, as well as recent secondary diploma graduates. It also welcomed anyone seeking to further their educational pursuits by exploring the diverse array of university studies offered by the participating institutions.
Hafeez bin Muslim Jaaboub, Media and Marketing Officer at the exhibition, emphasised the significance of the event as it allowed high school diploma students to directly address their inquiries concerning these esteemed educational institutions. This direct interaction served as a valuable resource for obtaining vital information with ease.
Moreover, the exhibition catered to professionals keen on upskilling and enhancing their career prospects in both public and private sectors through higher education opportunities.
More than 40 public and private educational institutions, academies and training centres from Oman and abroad gathered to showcase their offerings and support the academic aspirations of the country's youth.
A student, Kholoud Abdel Amir Reda, a high school diploma graduate, shared her insights, saying, "The choice of majors becomes clearer when you recognise your personal preferences." Having visited the exhibition during the period of considering university admissions, she found herself better informed about the courses available in various colleges and universities.
