NIZWA: Sheikh Hilal bin Said bin Hamdan al Hajri, Governor of al Dakhiliyah, conducted a media briefing to elaborate on Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival, which is scheduled from August 3 to August 19. Partners and stakeholders of the festival were present during the briefing.


The official logo of the festival, which symbolises the essence of Al Jabal Al Akhdar and its pleasant climate, highlighting it as an exceptional tourist destination, was unveiled during the meeting.


The governor also disclosed the dates and details of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival. The festival's events will take place primarily at the main venue adjacent to Hail al Yaman Park and Seih Qatna Park from August 3 to August 19.


The festival's primary objective is to attract families and visitors to experience the distinctive culture, rich history, and natural beauty of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar region. It will encompass a diverse array of activities, including children's programs and theatrical performances. Additionally, there will be numerous food stalls offering international and Omani cuisine, as well as a section dedicated to promoting local products and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

The festival will also allocate dedicated spaces for youth activities, catering to their interests and preferences. Furthermore, an adventure zone will be established to create a lively and creative environment for individuals of all age groups.


Exciting activities such as paragliding, laser shows, running and mountain bike races, and performances by the Royal Guard music band will be featured.


The Governor of Al Dakhiliyah said, "The festival aims to attract both domestic and international tourists while showcasing the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Al Jabal Al Akhdar and the entire Sultanate of Oman. Moreover, it serves as a platform to encourage entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises to participate in the festival, leveraging the opportunities to promote tourism and generate temporary employment opportunities."
