OQ to hold emergency offshore drill at Block 8 in Musandam

MUSCAT: OQ, the global integrated energy group, will carry out an emergency offshore drill on July 19, 2023 in Musandam at Block 8 approximately between 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The exercise is planned and conducted by OQ Exploration and Production (E&P) in participation with OQ Crisis Management Team and Musandam government authorities.


The exercise comes as part of the efforts exerted by OQ to maintain a high level of readiness for emergencies, is an integral part of the group’s commitment to ensure the safety and security of the employees, the surrounding communities, and the group assets.


During the exercise, a scenario will be simulated to test the group’s response and procedures, as well as the communication protocols.


It is worth noting that the exercise is not an actual emergency but rather conducted for the purpose of training only. Therefore, it should not cause any caution or general concerns.
