Oman attends ECO meeting on communication, IT

TEHRAN: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, participated in the communication and information technology meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which was hosted by the Iranian capital, Tehran.


The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the meeting was headed by Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Muaini, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman accredited to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the participation of Dr Nasser Al Fanah, Director of the Office of Technical Programmes at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.


The meeting discussed the future of technology and the importance of enhancing cooperation between members and neighboring countries to increase the benefit of technology and reduce its negative effects.


The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is working to develop the national program and the digital economy, through a package of projects, initiatives, and policies in various fields of technology, which aim to enhance the contribution of the digital economy to the gross domestic product. - ONA
