Fujairah: Fujairah International Airport on Wednesday received the first direct Salam Air flight coming from Muscat International Airport, using the Airbus 320.

For his part, Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of Salam Air, said that Muscat-Fujairah-Muscat route constitutes a regular rather than a seasonal track. He pointed out that the airline plans to increase flights on this route in the future, with promotional offers on schedule.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Captain Mohamed said that Salam Air seeks to operate cargo flights, making use of a special aircraft on its fleet that serves this purpose.

Captain Mohamed added that Salam Air's first flight to Fujairah Airport received a large turnout of passengers, with the number of those who shuttled back from Fujairah to Muscat rising to 120. This, he said, indicates the success of the step taken by the company's board of directors in operating flights to the Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
