Geneva: The Sultanate of Oman reiterated its resolute support for the rights of the Palestinian people and called for an immediate end to the Israeli occupation. Delivering a statement at the 53rd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Oman underscored the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the 1967 borders.

Oman praised the report presented by the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Palestine and the occupied Arab territories since 1967. The report characterized the occupation regime as irreparable and urged the international community to take decisive action against the occupying power. Oman echoed the report's call for the implementation of legal, diplomatic, and economic measures authorized by international law to hold the occupying power accountable, without discrimination.

Expressing condemnation and denunciation, Oman decried the recent crimes committed in Jenin, considering them part of the ongoing Israeli occupation and a continuation of its repeated violations in Palestinian territories.

Oman's strong position at the Human Rights Council underscores its steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause and highlights the urgent need for a just and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
