BIDIYA: The annual Tabseel season began in the Wilayat of Bidiya in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

The Tabseel of fresh dates contributes to food security, improves the marketing of dates and boosts its revenues.

An event was organised by the North Al Sharqiyah Governor’s Office in cooperation with a number of relevant authorities which included a simulation of the Tabseel process starting with the date harvesting all the way to the production of Faghoor on what is locally known as Turkba, a place designated for the cooking of Busoor where the attendees were introduced to the ancient Tabseel methods.

The event will conclude today by organising a scientific symposium titled ‘Opportunities for Investing in Faghoor in the Sultanate of Oman'. It aims to encourage scientific research on Faghoor products and overcome the challenges facing farmers, producers, exporters and consumers of Faghoor. — ONA
