Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has conferred the Order of Felicitation on Prof Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the Union of Museums of Russia, Director-General of the State Hermitage Museum and member of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum of Oman, in appreciation for his efforts and contributions to promoting cultural cooperation between the National Museum and the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg.
The conferment underlines Piotrovsky's role in boosting cultural and civilizational promotion between Oman and Russia.
The order was handed over by Sayyid Khalid Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, in the presence of Jamal Hassan al Musawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum and the chargé d'affaires of the Russian Embassy to Oman.
