MECCA: A team from the Omani Haj mission headed to Medina on Saturday to provide the services of the mission to the Omani pilgrims coming to the city, headed by Abdulaziz bin Masoud al Ghafri, deputy head of the mission.
The deputy head of the Omani Haj delegation said in a statement to Omani News Agency that the team will start, upon its arrival in Medina, providing preaching, guidance and health services. Members of the delegation supervising the Haj companies will carry out their field visits to check on the Omani pilgrims who arrived in Medina and meet them in places, their residence, and ensuring access to services in accordance with the terms of the contract between them and the Haj companies.
He also indicated that the team will stay from the 28th day of Dhul Qa’ada until the 4th of Dhul Hijjah, and that most of the pilgrims will then head to Mecca to perform the rituals of Haj.
He also pointed out that more than 60 per cent of the pilgrims coming from the Sultanate of Oman go to Medina to visit the Prophet’s Mosque, before heading to Mecca to perform the Haj.
It is worth noting that the mission team in Medina will provide integrated services, as it was formed from all service delegations, and includes the Fatwa and Religious Guidance delegation, the delegation supervising Haj companies, the medical delegation, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) delegation, the administrative and financial delegation, and the scout delegation. — ONA
