MANAH, JUNE 17

The Ihsaan Association in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate organised a remarkable trip for 160 elderly individuals from various wilayats. The group embarked on a journey filled with nostalgia and joy, visiting the renowned Oman Across Ages Museum. The excursion aimed to foster harmony among association members while paying homage to the cherished history of Oman, particularly the reign of the late Sultan Qaboos.

Under the guidance of Said bin Ahmed al Rawahi, an organiser from the Ihsaan Association, the elderly participants were carefully selected from Nizwa, Bahla, Al Hamra, Bidbid, Birkat Al Muz, Al Jabal Al Akhdhar, Manah and Adam.

Divided into smaller groups, they were granted exclusive access to the museum, with each group allotted a specific time slot. Following the museum visit, a delightful itinerary awaited them at the Manah Entertainment Centre, featuring recreational, cultural and sports competitions tailored to suit their preferences.

The visit proved to be an emotional and memorable experience for the elderly, evoking a myriad of emotions as they relished the memories intertwined with their heritage.

Overwhelmed with joy, her heart swelled as she encountered images of the revered Sultan Qaboos, whose esteemed place in their hearts remained unshakeable.

With tears of longing and joy, she found solace amidst the exhibits, particularly drawn to Sultan Qaboos’ personal possessions, including his cars, clothes and fragrances. Her heartfelt prayers resonated through the halls of the museum, inviting all to partake in this journey to reconnect with the past and honour the late Sultan’s enduring legacy.

Salim bin Said al Saifi, an elderly resident of Nizwa, shared his profound admiration for the museum, applauding its seamless blend of history and modernity.

He yearned for more time to absorb the rich tapestry of the exhibits, recognising that a society without knowledge of its past lacks a strong foundation for the present. He extolled the significance of preserving ancestral heritage, paying tribute to late Sultan Qaboos and his monumental efforts in shaping Oman. Grateful for the completed museum, he believed it stood as a testament to future generations, enabling them to appreciate and comprehend the late Sultan’s immeasurable contributions.
