AL KHABOURAH: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism signed a contract for the management, operation and employment of Al Khabourah Fort, in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah, North Al Batinah Governorate, with Al Hosoun Al Shamkha Heritage Trading Company.

The signing of the agreement comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to employ cultural heritage, ensure its sustainability and increase its utilisation by providing direct and indirect job opportunities, empowering the private sector, including small and medium enterprises and productive families.

This would also create marketing outlets for craftsmen, enriching tourism through value-added projects for the local community, and reviving sites and cultural heritage in accordance with Oman Vision 2040 and the strategic programmes of the 10th development plan.

The ministry also aims to develop, rehabilitate and provide various tourist destinations and experiences in various governorates that contribute to diversifying the tourist product and historical monuments as tourist destinations and to highlight the Omani civilisation and the authenticity of the Omani cultural heritage and its authentic culture. — ONA
