Muscat - The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIIT) has started constructing underpasses on the Batinah Highway in the North and South al Batinah governorates to facilitate the flow of traffic, shorten distances and ease traffic congestion.

The project includes five underpasses for cars located in each of Al Maladdah in the Wilayat of Al-Musannah, Al-Khabba, Al-Subaikhi, and Dhayan in the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq and Al Buraik in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah.

Construction work has begun on the Al-Buraik road crossing and preparing traffic diversions on Al Khabba and Al-Subaikhi roads in the Wilayat of Al-Suwaiq.

The underpasses will measure 4 meters, while the underpass of Al-Maladdah Road will have two lanes in each direction, with a height of 5.5 meters and a width of 10.5 meters.
