Mega projects to come up in 3 governorates

Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the results of the competition between the governorates in presenting the best development project.


The annually-held competition comes in line with the royal directives that instruct all units of the state's administrative apparatus to coordinate with the governors in all matters related to the affairs of their governorates, to ensure complementarity in performance.


Three governorates were awarded for the best development project proposals, which will be implemented with the support of the government and the participation of the private sector.


Rathath (Drizzle) Boulevard in Dhofar Governorate

The time period for completion: 4 years


Cost of the project: RO40 million


Location: Itin in Salalah


Area: 470,000 sqm


The project will include an artificial water canal, a fountain, local and international restaurants, an educational botanical garden, hanging walkways, theaters, shopping plazas, and a center for events.


It will create an integrated entertainment venue for all local and international visitors in accordance with Omani customs and traditions.


Rimal Park in South al Batinah Governorate

Cost of the project: RO6.9 million


Location: Al Batinah Expressway, extending 3 km from an integrated service station


Area: 225,000 sqm


The project will include a resort, amusement park, cable car, food carts, retail center, and car parking.


The objective is to develop sustainable tourism and create direct and indirect job opportunities to job seekers and employ small and medium-sized companies.


Aames Bay Development in Musandam Governorate

Cost of the project: RO6.9 million


Location: Niyabat Lima


Area: 68,700 sqm


The project aims to link various regions of Musandam Governorate and develop the infrastructure, in addition to stimulating tourism, creating new investment opportunities in the governorate, and achieving urban and social prosperity.
