SUHAR: North Al Batinah Governorate is committed to enhancing e-government and e-services, spearheading the industrial development of information technology (IT) to empower society and individuals. Aligned with Oman's digital strategy and the Oman Vision 2040, these efforts aim to drive economic growth and prosperity. The General Directorate of Financial and Administrative Affairs and the Municipality of North Al Batinah and its departments have reported remarkable improvements in 115 services across various sectors. These range from health, technical, administrative, finance, afforestation, maintenance and geographic information systems. The team of digital transformation at Al Batinah North Governorate also participated in Minajm laboratories, which is one of the four tracks that make up the executive plan of the government digital transformation programme 2021-2025, concerned with developing and improving government services.
Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, with the team of digital transformation in the Governorate, discussed the methodology for inventorying these services.
To establish an ecosystem led by ICY supporting the smart government and smart services, the supervisory team at North Al Batinah continued working on the proposed training programmes and workshops to motivate the staff to work with the aim of development and address challenges in implementing the digital transformation project.
It is worth noting that the digital projects in the governorate aim to improve and raise efficiency, simplify government service procedures and quality and enhance the digital user experience, and build confidence and awareness of electronic services.
