BOMBAY BLUES EDGES PAST MIS FIGHTERS IN MTCL T-20 FINALS

MTCL hosted the T-20 finals in the Oman Cricket Academy’s international ground, where two stand out teams of the tournament contested under lights. Bombay blues, that’s known for its stand out batting was going to be contesting against the MIS Fighters, which was considered to be one of the better bowling sides of the tournament.


The event was graced by the presence of Mohammed al Amri, Director General of Sporting Activities from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. In an interview, which was also telecasted live, with the international commentator Pranav Mehta, he was all praises about the growth and development of tennis ball cricket from the streets of Oman to the International Stadium. He also appreciated the attendance of almost around 1000 people at the venue. Lastly, he also sent his best wishes in the Oman National Cricket Team, that is currently in South Africa and later will be travelling to Zimbabwe for the all-important World Cup Qualifiers.


Younis Al Sakhi, Advisor to the Board of Directors of Oman Cricket was also there to grace this event with his presence. In an interview, he highlighted on how Oman has been consistently doing well at the international arena and he was very hopeful of some good news coming in very shortly. He also acknowledged the growth of tennis ball cricket in Oman in the past few years and he assured of continuous support and guidance from Oman Cricket to the passionate cricketers.


MIS Fighters, won the toss and elected to bat first in the high-pressure finale. The captain confirmed that runs on board would be the crucial aspect and he wanted their batters to bat freely. Unfortunately, his batters couldn’t stand up to the task and with wickets falling at regular intervals, MIS Fighters could only put 158/9 in the allocated overs.


In Response, Bombay Blue looking to chase a mediocre target came out with all guns blazing and chased the target down in mere 16 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Jitenkumar Ramanandi, who picked 3 wickets win the ball and scored 55 runs in mere 25 deliveries, was adjudged the man of the match.


The finale was equally celebrated by the crowd who was not only entertained by the exuberating cricket, but also surprised with a lot of activities and gifts. MTCL has been one of the favorite events for families and thus being the reason for the presence of such high number of crowds.


The umpiring duty was managed by Sameer Sattar & Ammar Mustafa, Photography was managed by George and his team, Videography & Live broadcast was managed by Sandesh Dhuri of Bowsher Sports Centre, Music was provided by DJ Maitri, Commentary and Presentation was done by Pranav Mehta.


In the presentation ceremony, International Commentator Pranav Mehta (on behalf of the MTCL management), took time to thank all the sponsors, supporters, teams, organisers, guests and the crowd for all the unconditional assistance that they have provided throughout the tournament.
