Omani team explores deepest cave hole in Dhofar

Muscat: The Omani team for cave exploration makes noticeable strides in the field of caves exploration. Led by those enthusiastic adventurers, a cave hole counted to what may be the deepest cave hole has recently been explored by them as they descend to a depth of not less than 300 meters.

In their newly published book on Oman caves, the team renamed the so called Ambaort hole, the team renamed it to Ajdrout hole. Meanwhile, when the book was published, the team had reached a depth of 150 metres, but they crossed this depth to 300 metres over the last few days.

“As carbon dioxide covered levels much higher than 1% (10 thousand parts per million) and the oxygen decreased to levels less than 17%, the team had struggled to continue the exploration mission”, the team said.

In addition, the team was not able to fully complete the exploration mission due to the lack of respiratory aids and excavation-related equipment.
