OFA appoints Tunisia’s Zuwaita as technical expert

The Oman Football Association (OFA) recently announced the appointment of a new technical expert to replace Slobodan Pavkovic of Serbia who resigned from the post. Dr Al Sagheer Zuwaita from Tunisia officially started in a few weeks his service in OFA as a technical expert in the technical and development unit. The Tunisian expert aims to provide all his expertise towards development of the national teams to show better position at the GCC, Arab, continental and international levels.


Dr Al Sagheer was born on December 31, 1968 and his last post was with the Tunisian Football Federation as Technical Director. He served his nation's football federation from 2016 to 2018 as assistant technical director. Between 2013 to 2016 and for a period of three years, he worked with the Tunisian Ministry of Youth and Sports as general manager of sports activities. He was the general manager of Saudi’s Ahli Jeddah Academy for three years from 2010 to 2013. He was the technical adviser in the Tunisian Football Federation from 2007 to 2010 for development of coaches and improvement of football in Tunisia.

In terms of coaching and teams training expertise, the 55-year-old has an experience of more than 30 years as he was in charge of assistant coach of Tunisian junior national teams from 1991 to 1993. He served Saudi’s Al Shuola club from 1996 to 1998 and he took charge as the head coach of Tunisia under-16 team from 1998 to 1999.


The new OFA technical expert is holder of Phd in football science which gives him expertise in football performance analysis and developing the training strategies. He has vast experience in coaching clubs and national teams in Tunisia and abroad. He also has many technical skills in communicating and building up the working teams and developing the mechanism of technical strategies performance in the football field.
