Muscat - The Association for Early Intervention for Children with Disability (AEICD) is hosting a Fitness Event on June 10 at the Sultan Qaboos Stadium from 3 pm to 8 pm. The event, open for all age groups, is to spread awareness on the importance of movement for health whether you are able or have any disability.

“No matter if a person has a disability, a person may move in a way. Sports has no limits. The event targets everyone from kids to adults and both men and women. The event will conclude with power yoga and stretch; in between, we will have a challenge sensation of a few movements such as max squats, plank, crunches etc,” said the organisers,” according to the organisers.

The event also aims to raise funds to support children at the Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities.

The Association is collaborating with Sportify and Wawan Gym for the Oman Fitness Event, which is expected to have a fun cardio workout with family and friends. It is to consist of a cardio workout that includes body attack, steps, and body combat. An exciting feature is the Group Challenge of 30 minutes.

According to the organisers, it is based on LesMills workout, a certified international workout that links simple movement with music. The event will host two types of workouts called “body pump” and “body combat” movements involving squats, lunges, punches (air), and high knee raises.

It’s pure cardio day, themed in a fun way with family and friends. Calories burned each session is a minimum of 700 calories, so we expect a minimum of 1000 calories per average person.

Participants can register through the link https://www.earlyintervention.om/#Oman-Fitness-Event Every registered participant will receive a wristband as a ticket for entrance which can be collected at the Association on the day of the event.

At the Association, early Intervention is an integrated system of programmes, procedures, and policies for children with disabilities. Families aiming towards the early detection of disabilities are provided with appropriate rehabilitation and improvement of the quality of life. Families will be supported and trained on how to handle their children’s disabilities best, reducing the burden on the families by helping them continuously every step of the way.
