Pact signed for air accident investigations in Oman

Muscat - The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIIT), and the Ministry of Defense on Monday signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of aviation accident investigation, as well as coordination between the concerned authorities to achieve and enhance the safety of air transport in the Sultanate of Oman.

The memorandum was signed by Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense.


With this agreement, the two sides seek more fruitful cooperation and joint coordination in aspects related to investigations of aviation accidents, the necessary protection for accident sites, and the rapid access and management of those sites according to the highest international standards, in a way that achieves the required safety.
